As we near four years since the start of COVID-19, the Register of Deeds office has yet to resume fully normal operations. I assure you that my administration will not impose prolonged lockdowns on the office, prioritizing a return to normalcy for accessible and efficient public service.  I stood against the government mandate for masking and for vaccines in my office as a City Commissioner and as a citizen in protests in Raleigh. I will not stand for the unconstitutional lockdowns that the government may try to force on the people.

In my time as a manager and a City Commissioner I learned that time is money. I found that by having sound strategy and a good implementation of a good plan, it is possible to save time and money at the same time. I have identified several cost saving and efficiency saving measures in the Register of Deeds office. Sound planning and visioning is the key to good governance. I bring a new executive skill set and thought process to the worn out and outdated way of running the office.

In my time as City Commissioner, I pushed to update our old and outdated city website. Although it is not perfect, the huge improvements that we have seen on the city's website are necessary for a modern and growing city. Websites are supposed to be simple and easy to navigate. It should be easy for the user to access information intuitively. We focused at the city level to have more meetings at local businesses where we brought information directly to the public. I promise to continue finding avenues to ensure the office is open and transparent as possible.

Life, Liberty, and Property - John Locke

The government's primary purpose is to protect life, liberty and property in that order. Without life you cannot have liberty, without liberty there is no security of property. The Register of Deeds office is rooted in the protection of property rights and aligns with Locke's vision by safeguarding individuals' ability to own, transfer, and manage property without undue interference. Ensuring accessibility, efficiency, and innovation in the office will ensure the maximum protection of the people's rights.
